History of Technology: Metallurgy

Overview

This theme extends from prehistory (Bronze Age, Iron Age, etc.) to the present. The development of techniques for the extraction and refinement of metals, together with the creation of alloys and their processing, made possible the invention of new tools to be applied in practically all new forms of endeavor, including the metallurgical processes themselves.
