History of Technology: Pre-ancient Technology

Overview

From the emergence of Homo habilis and the earliest fashioned tools (some 2.5 million years ago) to the rise of organized agriculture and partial urbanization, some 7 to 8 thousand years ago. This area of research partially overlaps with historical anthropology. Some subdivisions: Paleolithic, Neolithic, Bronze, and Iron ages.
